Description
Sulzer Separation technology Feed inlet devices Tangential gas inlet device Vapor Horn -Flashing feed device for large columns
Technology
The tangential vane flashing feed inlet device, called Vapor Horn , can be used for very high vapor-liquid mixture velocities in the feed pipe with gas F-Factors up to 120 Pa½. The feed flows radially around the vessel , liquid droplets are projected and collected on the inner wall of the vessel. Gas distribution is performed by baffles analog to a conventional vane gas inlet device.
Why Choose Vapor Horn
The Tangential Gas Inlet Device Vapor Horn is designed to introduce gas into separation vessels with minimal turbulence while promoting effective gas–liquid disengagement. Its tangential entry design ensures uniform flow distribution, reduces entrainment, and protects downstream separation equipment. By enhancing phase separation efficiency, it helps improve overall process reliability and capacity.
Typical Applications
Gas–liquid separation in oil & gas production facilities
Inlet conditioning for scrubbers and separators
Distillation and absorption column operations
High-capacity processing plants with demanding inlet flow conditions
Additional Features
Tangential gas entry for smoother flow patterns
Low pressure drop design to optimize energy efficiency
Suitable for a wide range of flow rates and vessel sizes
Robust construction for long service life in harsh environments
